Autumnal Trees of the Pacific Northwest

Wavering in the wind, forest leaf color takes us into another realm of inspiration and happiness! Revel in learning more about these amazingly well-adapted native conifer and deciduous tree species in two class sessions and an easy-paced walk along the Lake Padden Loop. We’ll explore trees field ID, adaptations, distribution, ecology and challenges on both the western and eastern Cascade and Olympic lowland to mountain slopes. Recent research reveals an even more complex interrelationship of trees with each other, the soils and fungi of this regional environment. Bring your curiosity to class, join lively discussions, get your questions answered and then join the fun field trip.
