An Introduction to R Statistical Programming
Explore a variety of R computing methods for acquiring, analyzing, summarizing, and presenting environmental science data. This one-day workshop will teach you the basics of communicating with the R Statistical Program for the application of basic statistics and how to display those analysis using appropriate graphs. This is an applied statistics class that assumes the participants have a knowledge of basic statistics and understanding of basic statistical theory.
Specifically, upon successful completion of this workshop, you will be able to use R to:
- Enter data, and obtain and use descriptive statistics, estimates of population parameters, and graphics
- Apply data to common statistical methods and tests, such as t-tests, contingency analysis, correlations, as well as statistical modeling with ANOVA and regressions
- Present statistical information and analysis through written, graphical, and oral communication
Participants are encouraged to bring your own laptops.
Workshops are limited to 12 people.
