Cost & Registration

All WesternOnline courses are fully self-supporting, receiving no funds from the State Legislature. Therefore, tuition and fees for courses are different than tuition charged for campus programs. Fees are subject to change as the result of action by the Washington State Legislature or by Western’s Board of Trustees.

Agency or institutional purchase orders are accepted for tuition payment. Tuition does not include textbooks.

Term Based Icon for Western Online  Term-Based online courses follow the quarterly schedule and require internet access. Students access course information through Canvas and have weekly interaction among instructors and other students.

Self-Paced Icon for Western Online  Self-Paced courses are available on your schedule and start anytime. Students access courses online through Canvas but do not require online interaction.

By registering, a student incurs a legal obligation to pay tuition and fees. This debt may be canceled only if the student officially withdraws before the appropriate course refund deadline (see Refunds & Withdrawals for more information).
