Computer Science Club: Middle School

Registration ends the Sunday before the program starts. Early bird pricing ends on 12/5/19.

Participants SCRATCH their way to the top of middle school programmers!

Students in grades 6-8 are invited to join us to design and code their own video game while exploring the world of coding with Scratch. during Computer Science Club. Scratch is a programming language used to create interactive stories, games, and animations. Join our excellent instructors in our campus computer lab to let your creation come to life.

No previous coding experience required. ALL learner levels are encouraged to attend!

Our goal with Computer Science Club is to help participants discover the fundamentals of technology in a creative, student-driven and social club environment. Students develop digital literacy skills and experience being on a college campus as they explore hands-on learning in specialized computer labs on Western's campus.

Youth program participants and staff must abide by all University regulations and program rules.

8 weekly meetings, every Saturday starting February 1, 2020 and ending on March 28, 2020.

Please note: Because of holidays, no class will be held on February 15.

Video Game Design with Scratch

Help your student Scratch their way to the top of middle school programmers! Participants design and code their own cooperative video game – no previous coding experience required.

Cancellation Policy

Any request for participant cancellation must be made by email to youth@wwu.edu.

A cancellation request received prior to seven calendar days before the registration close date will be assessed a $25 cancellation fee. The cancellation fee will be deducted from the full refund. There will be no refunds for cancellation request received within seven calendar days before the registration close date.

Full refunds with no cancellation fee will be given for any program cancelled by Western.
