Student Services

We're here to support your IEP journey, both on and off campus. You’ll find information on advising, immigration, campus resources, and life in Bellingham. You can also follow IEP on Facebook for current updates.

Advising Information

International Student Advisors (ISAs) help you succeed in all aspects of life during IEP. We help with goal-setting, advise on immigration issues, and help you get the most out of your international experience. ISAs are always available by e-mail, but we encourage you to make an appointment or drop by with questions! We have appointments available from 9 to 11:30 a.m. and regular drop-in advising hours from 3 – 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday in College Hall 133.

Global Lounge

The Global Lounge is in College Hall, room 09 (lower level). You are welcome to use it throughout your time at Western. In the lounge, you'll find:

  • a computer lab with a printer.
  • study spaces.
  • couches and a TV for socializing or watching a movie.
  • free hot drinks to help you warm up when it is cold outside.

Looking to make friends or meet other international students? Come to Global Gatherings every Thursday night from 5 to 7 p.m.! Take a break from studying and join the campus community for games, snacks, workshops/presentations and other exciting activities!

Quarterly Activities

IEP holds events each quarter, and also sponsors activities in the Bellingham area. Every quarter, Western's Language and Culture Programs (LCP) holds a banquet welcoming students and celebrating the international community. During the winter we host gatherings indoors at Western's banquet halls. During spring and summer we often move our events to one of Bellingham's beautiful parks or to Western's outdoor watersport facility, Lakewood. Throughout the year we have wide range of activities and events. To get an idea of what kind of events you can expect while studying at Western, check out some past examples below!
